Antoni Rayzhekov

BIO

Antoni Rayzhekov is a composer, theater maker and new media artist born in Bulgaria and currently living in Vienna, Austria. He has a MA in theater directing and BA in drama acting at the National Academy for Theater and Film Arts “K. Sarafov” – Sofia. Between 2009 – 2013 he studied musical improvisation at the Vienna Konservatorium – Austria with F. Berthold and computer programming at LearningTree, London, UK. He was an IT expert for the UN Office in Vienna and a cofounder of the Vienna based New Media label THIS.PLAY, focused on interactive technologies and art, since 2011 guest lecturer in Interactive Media at the University for Applied Science – St.Pölten, Austria and März Academy, Stuttgart, Germany. Antony was artist in residence at Trasformatorio 2013 (Sicily, IT), STEIM and DansMakers (Amsterdam, NL), MotionBank workshop at Frankfurt LAB (Frankfurt, DE). Antoni Rayzhekov is working in the field of performing arts, contemporary dance, new media and sound. For his works, he obtained awards and grants from ProHelvetia, Soros Foundation, ComputerSpace and Ministry of Culture – Bulgaria.
